Wedding Photography Ideas - Snow Globes

It's not clear as to when the first snow globe, also called a snowdome, was created, but its origin is dated back to the early 1800s in France. Ever since their introduction to America in the 1920s snowglobes have been a nostalgic tradition in the American culture. With their use in advertising in the 1940s, they have become even more widely popular in American Culture.

Snow globes can now be modified by the end user allowing them to be customized with personal photos, making them a cool photo idea for your wedding reception centerpiece or to give as gifts at your wedding, especially if you're planning on having a winter wedding theme.

Some photography suggestions for using the snow globe:

  1. you may want to include various photos from your engagement photography session and use the snow globe as your reception center piece.
  2. use photos from both the bride and grooms childhood
  3. give the snow globe away as a wedding favor gift to your guests
  4. while it may be a bit expensive to mail, but you may consider using an image from your wedding photography and sending the snow globe as a thank you gift and reminder of your wedding winter theme.
The snow globe we used in this article was purchased from an AAron Brothers art mart for a few dollars. You can find them at most art supply and craft stores in Southern California or by doing an online search for "Photo Snow Globes".

Whatever you decide to do, giving a memorable gift, such as a snow globe, will only stand to remind your wedding gusts of your special day they shared with you and the long lasting love you have for each other.
