Brides and Bouquets Print E-mail

The fundemental thread that has been the centerpiece of most wedding ceremonies, both past and present, is undoubtedly the timeless elegance of flowerImage arrangements.  As natures gift, flowers and greens have been the mainstay of espousal etiquette since man or woman can remember.  Virtually every culture incorporates this angiospore in there framework of embellisment; whether it be table settings, wall décor, or the wedding bouquet, nothing beautifies more innately than flowers.

There has been much speculation as to where flower arrangements and bouquets originated and many cultures lay claim to this inheritance.  In ancient times Greeks would use floral crowns to adorn the bride, while in Persia the birthplace of the ‘cultivated rose’, different colored roses would be used as a ‘floral code’ to convey messages between lovers.  It must be noted that before flowers became the mainstay of most wedding celebrations, herbs, fresh greens and bulbs of garlic were the choice of primitive ornamentation for weddings; symbolic meaning assigned to different greens were said to annote magical powers, ranging from warding off evil spirits to bringing wisdom to the newfangled union.

It was in the 18th century when the ‘language of  flowers’ was introduced from Persia to Europe when a variety of different colored flowers began to dominate wedlock celebrations.  Varient flowers and colors would be chosen as to the significance of there meaning.  To a certain degree this was counterproductive to many flowers that were assigned negative connotaions even though they were just as beautifull and sweet smelling as any other floral variety.  Non-the-less this spurred an explosion in the floral indusry for a range of variety in bouquets and flowers that continues to this day.  Shunned are the days where the bride must be careful in choosing her floral arrangements due to there interpretation.

In modern times most brides will choose what entices them most or what is generally fashionable in there culture.  Taste of choice  will vary from one nuptial to another, nevertheless a balance is usually found in floral colors and varieties that coheres to theme, location, and attire that dominates the ceremony.  The chief flower arrangement in the majority of weddings is the bridal bouquet or the ‘posy’, a term that historically goes back to Victorian times where flowers were bunched together in regard to there significance.  The  posy is generally smaller and less flamboyant than the bouquet and both come in a multitude of styles that best suits the bride.

ImageBouquets are usually the mainstay for most brides and are normally addorned with ribbon, lace, and beads.  It is the bouquet that takes center stage out of other flower arrangements when it comes down to picture taking.  Wether it be photographed close up, or being thrown into a crowd of bachelorets this flower arrangement must look its best to keep up demand by the paparazzi!  Other flower arrangements may not be as popular as the bouquet but they still play just as much of a significant part in complimenting photographs as does the bouquet. Wether it be tulips, roses, or violets, flowers bring value to any stage it is presented on.

A plain clothed dining table can easily be transformed into something more elegant when a center-piece of blossoms are set on it.  Portraiture of family and guests in such coterie  lend themselves to a special event taking place.  Flowers beautify everything from cazebos to the very ground the bride and groom walk on.  Flower petals sprinkled on the bride and grooms path signify fertility and happiness.  This florid trail brings focal point in capturing pictures of bride and groom that is’nt any different than the red carpet does for distiguished celebrities.  Even the rearwards view will allow satisfying images that will capture the path the newlyweds are about to embark on.  The heart of most successful wedding ceremonies both past and present has been the adornment of flowers in espousal.  Though the significance of floral arrangements has evolved through time, one can’t help but admire the beauty they conspire, wether it be on a centuries old victorian painting or the colorfull glossy print in this months wedding magazine, flowers are here to stay.
